Would you like to see SEO and Social media at a level where mere commoners cannot play. Leaving your competition behind? Don’t you deserve to get the truth?
Social Media
Social media is done in three ways. One is mostly a waste of time socially but is neccesary for your SEO. The other is lots of work but is lethally good, the last is advertising and the best choice. But most do it all wrong.
- Its good for your SEO. Google likes who it likes, likes. Facebook is an authority web domain. Having your brand listed there is important in your being trusted by Google. More about this in a second. So what is the time waster you ask? Spending grips of cash and or time to produce that nobody sees. In fact only 5% to 10% of your likes will see you content on your Facebook page.
- What is lot’s of work? Spending time in your personal profile. It is a ton of work to develop a persona and creating interesting content for your audience. But if done well. You can get lots of people to care about what you say. Especially if you work at your content within specialized groups of interest.
- Advertise. It makes sense to push your message out there. The quick and simple strategy is to cull your audience down into tighter and tighter interests.I have a buddy who does very well on Facebook advertising. He explains it this way.Let’s say you want to target fans of your favorite college team so that you can sell fan gear to them. Most marketers will post a picture of the product and then some copy and boost it to their likes. But you can do much tighter work than that so that you are targeting rabid fans of your team who like to buy their teams fan gear.He will start out with a video about college football starting up.The folks were engaging on that video will get another video about the college team.
Those that engaged on that will get a video or dark post that either talks about the importance of fan support and nothing shows more support than a college team cap. And then he will finally hit the tightest group with an offer to buy a cap. As they all but have told him they are excited to buy hats!
What Does Social Have to do with SEO?
What if I told you to stop wasting your time and money creating organic content on your business social media. And instead put that budget resourced into what matters. Your blog.
What if I showed you a way to do that, while actually helping your SEO. Yes if you write your blog and syndicate it out to 20 or 30 or more web properties that Google loves. Then you only have to create and post content maybe once or at worse a few times.
And the benefits to your SEO is that it extends your brand reach and link backs through your posts and profiles.
Pretty cool right? Would you like to know what tools you can use where you can automatically syndicate your content?
Hit that share button and the list is yours!
- Jet Pack. The plug in suite from WordPress has a tool to auto share your content to multiple accounts. The downside is there are not nearly enough profiles and the Jet Pack suite is WordPress bloatware. Search for it in the WordPress Plugin Store. Its Free.
- NextScripts. This is my favorite because it covers most of the platforms I want to cover. This is a paid software even though the download will give you a very muted version.
The paid SNAP plugin is an amazing platform for instantly sharing your new content to social media, whether it’s Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Flipboard, or LinkedIn (amongst many of other social networks) that you want to have your content auto-shared on, SNAP will give you enough features and options that you will never again have to worry about publishing your content to social media manually.
3. IFTTT-If then then that. The idea is. If RSS (the syndication link from your blog) then fire a post to Facebook or whatever. I currently use this to fire a post to a Twitter from my Facebook.
4.Zapier. Similar and more sophisticated than above. Free and Paid.
5. Microsoft Flow– Not quite as abundant as the other choices.Free and Paid.
6.Hootsuite-So I was early to this syndication game and used Ping.FM as a replacement to OnlyWire (which I would list as a choice but I believe they are not SEO friendly anymore). Well Hootsuite bought Ping and that party ended. But there are still some free possibilities there and is part of my arsenal. Free and Paid.
8. Microblog Poster-Microblog Poster is very similar to SNAP in the sense that it will also publish your content to social media automatically, the only exception here is that Microblog Poster also provides a feature that lets you share your old content back to social media.
Some platform scripts are not available or simply do not work. Thus, why I offer you many choices to fill in the gaps.
The idea is to find platforms that you can have your content syndicated to. It will take some time to add branded profiles. Forget about the old keyword centric profile we all did in the past. The profile should be consistent across the web and exactly what you have on your website for your nap anc citation. Name, Address, Phone and link. An exact link is what your site defaults to. If https://www.url.com is on your site. Which is what it should be everywhere. Not https://url.com/.
Try and set them up to reveal a snippet of the blog post and a link back.
Now what if you do not have a blog and RSS?
I had to figure that out myself a few times as I have had clients who do not have RSS or even a blog. And they were not going to change.
So I used a secondary solution from a sitemap tool I use. https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ Not only will this give you a sitemap. It will give you an RSS feed of your entire site. Not pretty. But better than nothing.
